[LIFE Group] Night: Studying Scripture (11.14)
Additional Resources Used: One of our students provided us with background music for the evening, the Wii was on for bowling.
Evening in a Sentence: We spent time in our [LIFE Groups] exploring why it is important for us to spend time Studying Scripture.
Element of Fun: Fellowship time over dinner.
What Worked: Tonight was a quiet, introspective evening (especially for the guys. The subject matter is very deep, especially when students are being convicted for their lack of time spent developing the habit of Bible study. Our time in fellowship was fantastic, and students are once again enjoying the small items that we offer, such as the Wii and the basketball hoop. The dinner that one of our students’ parents provided was a hit and students were excited to have her and her culinary skills here tonight. There were some great questions asked in [LIFE Groups] that really challenged students to think deep about their walk with God. Students were excited to hang out and talk after the programmed portion of the evening was over.
What Needs Work: Music seems to have slipped back into a quieter mode for students. Some of our Student Leaders seem to be struggling to arrive in time to help set up for the evening. There were some regular students missing tonight that we have no idea where they were.
Summary: Tonight was a very laid-back and enjoyable evening of ministry. Being able to sit and see students wrestle with their thoughts on Bible Study, and their their experiences and what they have learned from their time in study was a great treat for me.
