Wednesday Night Live Extended (4/17)

Tonight’s Wednesday Night Live was part three of our Evangelism For My Life Series, and it was a really phenomenal night.

For starters, we had a lot of our students who have been involved in our current series from the start, and even got to see a few who have not been around in a while. So we had a fair amount of consistency with our crew, and there was not a lot of review needed beyond refreshing the main points of the last two weeks. We also had one of our newer girls bring along a new friend (for the second week in a row)! We moved some elements around (opening with music instead of closing), and our crew enjoyed the found online videos this week (Spier-Man reenacted by bunnies. I’ll try to find them again and post them for your enjoyment).

The lesson itself was well-received and our teens really seemed to interact with it. Questions were asked (and many more were dropped into the question box), thoughts were shared. There were several who really dove into the task of writing out their own journey so far (which was the main thrust of the lesson). Overall it was really a great evening.

But I think the best thing that happened tonight was a deep conversation I got to have with one of our girls about her past, her desire to grow, and her request to be baptized in the near future. She is so full of a desire to follow Christ, and has such an amazing story to tell about how she has returned to His arms that I am in awe of just how God works. Plus we got to give her a copy of the Bible since she doesn’t have one (she used to but got rid of them when she walked away from God. A lot of the Scriptures and topics we have been hitting the past couple of weeks have really impacted her – starting with the Prodigal Son two weeks ago).

As much as last week felt really off, this week seemed really “on.” One student even shared that he was glad he had not journeyed down to Beaver Falls to watch his brother play baseball because tonight was a really good night. Not something we normally hear (and though I would have been perfectly fine with him missing tonight for seeing his brother, I am glad that he was able to participate tonight). Tonight had God’s hands al over it.
