Update on “What is a Youth Pastor to Do?”
I have a brief update on the student who we were having problems with over the past few months, that I originally blogged about here.
We were able to work through some of the problems, and were even able to persuade her to seek counseling. We have had some relapses with the attitude and with her desire to push us away. But this week, she has decided that her relationship with us since February of 2005 (when we had the first bump in the relationship) has been nonexistent and she has been fake with us the entire time. So she has deemed it best to step away from us and anyone else who cares about her, and is resigning herself to her thoughts that she is destined for hell and may be here on earth because God is forcing her to serve penance for her family members’ sins.
Please keep her and her family in your prayers as she struggles with this, and pray that she would come to terms with where God has placed her now, so that she may be able to truly rest in Him.
