Facets of Youth Ministry – Wrap Up
This series has been a fun one to write. I set out to share some of my observations and I believe that I have done so. Please note that I am by no means stating that every Youth Pastor must do exactly as I say here. But these facets seem to be necessary ones for success in every ministry I have worked in or have assisted with.
There is a lot of overlap between the facets. There are a lot of characteristics that Fathers, Friends and Older Siblings all share. But for the sake of the series, I elected to focus upon a few items from each facet. I could go deeper (and may yet someday) but that would be a rather long paper to read.
Remember that there are many other facets that are useful, such as technology guru, musician, web developer, blogger, and graphic designer just to name a few. If you are not skilled in any of these areas, network and ask for assistance from other youth pastors and/or trained adults (or teens!) in these areas.
