Fat Man in a Little Swimsuit…
Interesting note tonight. I was at a loss yesterday for what to use for our “Nugget of Truth” for our weekly Outreach Event. After a little consideration, I decided to go lighthearted. I used Matt McGill’s Sports Instructional Video: Swimming video to ask the question “Who are you following?” Are you following someone who looks like they will be a lot of fun, but really doesn’t know what they are doing. Or are you following the person who created you and knows all the ins and outs of life?
The point seemed to be driven home well for most of the students who stayed to listen.
And the best line of the night I have to give to myself. I was talking about Matt and his swimsuit that was disproportionate to his girth and one of our larger students piped up that he likes wearing his speedo. Well in the back of my mind I am trying to get a few guys together to run in slow motion across our lawn in swimsuits to spoof the Baywatch opening credits to use for our “BayTime” program element at this event. So I told him point blank “Come by the church Monday with your Speedo and we can use you. Ehhh, so wrong out of context…
